0What not to do when taking baby out shopping
I heard a cracking noise when I reversed out of the car park at Homebase in Battersea on Wednesday. I instantly thought I’d hit another car, but the car park at Homebase isn’t exactly like the one at Harbour Club. It doesn’t seem to pull as many yummy mummies as the gym, and there were no cars to be seen in the spaces around me in the middle of the day that day.
A few minutes later, however, I was driving along, but suddenly spotted that my shopping bag was nowhere to be seen. Baby Girl and I had visited the relatively new Habitat concession in Homebase in York Road, and stocked up on frames for Baby Girl’s artwork.
Those frames were not to be messed with. Baby Girl was in desperate need of more places to display her art, and I didn’t want to lose our new frames.
My heart rate jumped when I realised we’d left our shopping behind, and we made a quick U-turn, rushing back into the car park. It turned out I’d placed the shopping bag next to the car while strapping Baby Girl back in her car seat and I had hit the bag when reversing out.
But plastic corners and bubble wrap did the trick. The frames were as good as new. Phew. Baby Girl and I are way too busy running around soft play areas and bouncing away on plastic reindeer to waste any more time shopping for frames.
