0How to manage ear pain mid-air
When I asked Daddy T if he could pass me Baby Girl’s bottle on the flight back from Nice on Monday, he refused to give it to me. Baby Girl was already asleep, and I think he could sense I was about to embarrass him.
For some reason, he didn’t fancy having his wife sit next to him sucking on a baby bottle to relieve pressure in the ears. But I was incredibly tempted to try it. I was feeling pretty desperate–perhaps like a baby badly affected by air pressure. I had a very bad throat and ear infection last week, resulting in the terrible ear pain after take off.
The good news is that I now feel like an expert on ear pain and air pressure. Next time we fly, I won’t worry about feeding Baby Girl exactly at take off. I’ll start feeding her a few minutes later and won’t get stressed about the timing. At take off, she’ll be sitting in my lap looking out the window instead.
That’s at least if we get back on a plane anytime soon.
