0What to do in South West London with children this bank holiday weekend
Celebrate Chelsea in Bloom with rickshaw tour and tea stop
This year marks the 10th anniversary of Chelsea in Bloom, which started on Monday, and has seen a number of shop windows around Chelsea being transformed with outstanding floral displays. For me, this is the best part of the local Chelsea Flower Show celebrations, and for families who want to get children involved, you can take a free walking or rickshaw tour starting from Sloane Square. There’s also a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party with characters from Alice in Wonderland and a giant tea pot serving refreshments on Duke of York Square, which is open from noon every day. The last day of Chelsea in Bloom is Saturday 23 May.
See Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom Live at Richmond Theatre
The Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom stage show, which is on tour again this year, is playing at Richmond Theatre this weekend, and last time I checked there were still a few tickets left. The producers behind the stage adaptation of the magical animation Ben & Holly are the same as the ones behind Peppa Pig Live and Octonauts Live–both stage shows we’ve loved seeing.
Meet Mr Monopoly at Harrods
With board game Monopoly celebrating its 80th anniversary this year, Mr Monopoly will be visiting The Toy Kingdom at Harrods on Satruday 23 May between noon and 4pm.
Get your favourite doll styled at My London Girl
Girls can bring their favourite doll to a hairdressing appointment at fun doll shop My London Girl at Westfield on Saturday 23 May
or Wednesday 27 May. Choose a style and see the doll sit in its own mini hairdressing chair while getting pampered. Hairstyling costs £3.50 for My London Girl dolls and £7 for other brands of dolls, and appointments can be booked on 0208 740 0900.
