0What to expect after baby’s had injections
Baby Girl and the pneumococcal injection is not a good combination. I’ve realised that now. We practically never have a stay-at-home day – particularly not on a day Baby Girl has her music class – but we were forced to yesterday.
Baby Girl looked confused. She’s not used to staying at home either. And she’s definitely not used to staying at home with fever and a swollen area on her thigh.
But what she is getting used to is probably her mum being on the phone to her paediatrician Dr Kingi Aminu after she’s been given the pneumococcal vaccination. I ended up calling Dr Aminu twice yesterday, as I was worried about Baby Girl’s reaction to the injections she’d had the day before.
First, I was concerned about a red area on her thigh where she’d had one of the injections – the pneumococcal one. Then, I was worried about how the red area on her thigh would affect her weekend plans, more specifically her spa appointment. It’s not easy being Baby Girl.
