0What to watch with kids in cinemas over half-term
Maya the Bee
Today Maya The Bee, an animation film based on a children’s book from 1912, is opening in cinemas in the UK, and this is my favourite half-term film, as I could see how much Baby Girl loved watching the start of the film. It tells the story of the sweet and curious young bee Maya who leaves the hive to explore the world beyond, and it is an ideal family film to keep little ones entertained. The film is on at Cineworld in Wandsworth every morning next week, and it is also playing at Vue on Fulham Broadway and Odeon in Kingston, among others.
Animal Kingdom: Let’s Go Ape
Set in the jungle, Animal Kingdom: Let’s Go Ape (see picture above) tells the story about a monkey who’s smaller than the other monkeys, but succeeds despite doing things differently. The film, also out in cinemas today, features upbeat music and life-like animations, and Baby Girl was hooked when she had the chance to watch the beginning. Animal Kingdom is playing at Vue Cinema Fulham Broadway and Vue Westfield, among others.
Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of The Were-Rabbit
On Saturday 24 October, the unique Electric Cinema in Notting Hill is showing Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of The Were-Rabbit for their 9.30am Saturday kids club. With loveable characters and a fun plot, starting the day with Wallace and Gromit in Portobello Road sounds pretty great.
Australian film Paper Planes is also out digitally and in cinemas today, and this family film could be a good choice for slightly older children. In addition, there’s a new My Little Pony film in cinemas from tomorrow
