What we do when there’s no time to cook

With a busy schedule and a schedule sometimes held up by tantrums on the go, there are days when I feel there’s not as much time to prepare dinner as planned. But here are three ideas for what to do when there’s little time to cook:

Toddler meals
I’m not a big buyer of ready-made toddler meals, as Baby Girl and I usually always have dinner together, but I was really surprised with the taste of the Annabel Karmel chicken and butternut squash lasagne, a sample we received to try. I served it to 26-month old Baby Girl with broccoli and cherry tomatoes (see picture above), and I would definitely consider buying this meal again to keep as a back-up.

Ready-meals
If I need a quick-fix for dinner, I tend to stop by Bayley & Sage by Parsons Green and pick up one of their cooked meals. The family favourite is the Bayley & Sage lasagne, which we eat with a salad and garlic baguette, but we’ve also tried the fish pie.

Take-away
For take-away, we’ve moved away from the very spicy dishes we used to love, and now our favourites if we order take-away are burgers or pizza. I’ve started enjoying ordering from the local Byron, where Baby Girl have had the kids menu with a chicken burger, and when we order pizza we order from Basilico.
