0When babies never cried
In the 1980s, life was good. Babies didn’t cry back then. They all wanted a dummy, and parents could simply live in peace.
Now it’s a different story. Or is it? Grandpa P seems to think it’s not the age. It’s me.
Just when I thought we had scored hole-in one, it turns out I’m not living the dream after all. We’re thrilled to have a baby daughter, and we can survive a bit of crying. In fact, I was even under the impression that babies did cry and that the best thing I could offer my child was a caring and loving environment.
But no. It’s not about TLC. It’s all about dummies.
Twenty-four hours with Grandpa P and I’m now fully educated on babies. It’s not normal to have a baby who cries when she’s tired or hungry and whines–and sometimes even cries loudly–when she’s bored with her toys, would prefer to be carried around by her mummy, or is not getting enough attention. At least babies didn’t do that 30 years ago.
I guess it’s a good thing I’m so disillusioned I still love my life as it is–and I wouldn’t swap my crying little star for anything in the world.
