0When baby moves to a separate bedroom
I was dreading going to bed yesterday. The plan was that I would sleep one metre further away from Baby Girl than usual, and I was concerned it was too far.
In the first ten weeks of her life, she was in her moses basket right next to my bed. After that, she moved to her cot, but she was still close to my bed, where I liked having her.
I’m just not sure I’m ready for this next step, which was brought on by the fact that Baby Girl has passed six months and I can no longer use the sleep recommendations from the FSID as an excuse to keep her super close.
That’s why I now have to turn a corner to see her. But knowing how I feel about this already, I think I have to convince Daddy T that the new arrangement might actually be dangerous for me.
I still often jump out of bed looking for Baby Girl in the middle of the night, and I now have a doorstep and a corner to slip on or bump into. If I do that around two to three times every night, I have a feeling Daddy T will find his sleep become much more disturbed than what it was with a bit of sporadic high-pitched screaming from Baby Girl. There’s someone else who knows a thing or two about screaming too.
