0When baby starts sleeping on the side
Baby Girl continues to impress me. She already seems to be focused on preventing back problems in adult life. She’s started following the advice I was once given by a chiropractor and is now sleeping on her side.
She looks very comfortable when she’s fast asleep on her side. The only one who’s not comfortable is me. I would much prefer if she could focus less on health benefits in later life and more on staying in the same position I put her to bed in.
It would at least help if she could stay on her back in the middle of the night. That way I could have a bit longer to get used to my six-month old sleeping in funny positions when I’m awake and can have my eyes fixed on the monitor.
It’s really not safe to have me running around half-awake in the middle of the night worrying about airflow. Almost every night I glance over at the baby monitor on my bedside table in the early hours of the morning, see Baby Girl lying on her side with her face squashed up to the side of the cot bed, and jump out of bed to save her. The whole process takes around two seconds.
After those two seconds, I realise I’m probably the one who needs help. Not her.
