0When baby stops sleeping through the night
I don’t think I can blame the travel cot. Baby Girl has the same travel cot at her grandparents’ houses, and she’s used to it by now. In fact, I think she likes sleeping on the Naturalmat travel mattress we use in the Baby Dan travel cot. Her sleeping arrangement is definitely not the reason for why she stopped sleeping through the night in the middle of last week.
It’s much more likely that I’m the reason–or more specifically my milk. After having weeks of sleeping for 11 hours or more at night without waking up, Baby Girl suddenly started waking up once or twice in the middle of the night the night after I got ill.
I came down with a very bad throat infection and managed to record temperatures we’d never even seen before on our digital ear thermometer. I don’t think it did wonders for my milk. Or my energy levels for that matter. A hungry baby and night-time fever spikes is not a good combination.
I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels like I need another holiday after this. Baby Girl probably does too. What a stressful life.
