0When baby wakes up with a red and swollen eye lid
Baby Girl made a very strategic move yesterday. She came down with a terrible eye infection, ensuring there was no way I could go to a course I was meant to attend on understanding toddler behaviour.
But Baby Girl was probably less excited about me gaining new parenting skills.
When I was meant to be at the course, which I felt would have been extremely useful for me since 14-month old Baby Girl has regular tantrums, we were at The Portland Hospital instead.
She had woken up with a very swollen and red eye lid and a temperature, and after speaking to her regular paediatrician, I realised she needed to be seen straight away. I called The Portland Hospital to see if we could get an appointment with a paediatrician there, as I had understood there was a risk she would have to be admitted to hospital and we wanted to go private.
Baby Girl was seen less than one and a half hour after I called to book, and around half an hour later she’d had her first dose of antibiotics. I might have to wait to learn more about understanding her tantrums until next time there’s a course, but at least we didn’t have to be admitted to hospital and she already seems to be getting better.
Go Baby Girl!
