0When preschooler learns about emergency vehicles
‘And he got a plaster?’
‘Yes, he did’
‘Did he take his shirt off’
‘Yes and he also had to sew’
‘Like you?’
‘Yes, like me’
When three-year-old Big Girl, five-month-old Baby Boy and I were reading Baby Boy’s Busy Baby book the other day I’m not sure Baby Boy managed to follow the story. Someone in the group interrupted him on every page by asking dozens of questions about the illustrations, and the most interesting one appeared to be the ambulance.
I had mentioned that Daddy T once had to go in an ambulance because he was dancing and fell over a table, landing on a glass. Big Girl found the story incredibly amusing, and wanted to know all about it.
She got on the phone to Daddy T too, checking he was alright now, not quite getting the concept of time and understanding that he’s more than likely to have recovered in 10 years.
The ambulance story was a hit with her. I’m just wondering what the teachers will think when she most probably repeats it on Monday without including that Daddy T’s dancing accident was not exactly weekend news.
