0When to send school registration forms
When Baby Girl was born, I didn’t only have breast pads and disposable knickers in the hospital bag. I also had Baby Girl’s school registration forms. It was almost embarrassing to have them there though. More embarrassing than the multi-pack knickers.
We had received a list of items to bring to hospital from the Kensington Wing, but school registration forms were not one of them. And it seemed like their list was pretty comprehensive, considering that they’d even included aromatherapy oils.
But hearing about the London school system from friends with children, we had been convinced that it was perfectly acceptable to bring the forms to hospital and post them as soon as the baby was born.
I had therefore filled in the forms in advance, and I knew the location of the post box at Chelsea & Westminster. In fact, Daddy T passed the post box twice daily when he was out to get us our Starbucks lattes.
But for some reason we never posted the registration forms there. I simply couldn’t make up my mind of whether it looked a tad desperate to have the envelopes stamped from the hospital, or if it was just what was considered normal among London parents. So much to learn.
