0When toddler loves swings
At first there’s breastfeeding. Then there’s weaning. And then there’s queuing for swings. There’s always something new to get used to as a first-time mum.
In the last week, I’ve taken Baby Girl to several local playgrounds, and she absolutely loves baby swings. The bad news is that she’s not the only one who rates swings as the top playground activity.
There seems to be a constant queue for these things.
The result is that I stand out in the cold staring at the child on the swing, while I try to entertain 13-month old Baby Girl who is not big on waiting. When we finally get to the front of the queue Baby Girl first squeaks with excitement–but then cries hysterically when I pull her out after a little while and we have to join the back of the queue again, as it doesn’t take long before I feel bad for the other mums and toddlers waiting to get on the swing.
I would love to know if there is some sort of unwritten rule about how many minutes we can occupy a swing on a playground if there is a queue.
This is the type of challenge I’m faced with at the moment.
