Where to meet Father Christmas in London

With Father Christmas meet and greets often booking up quickly, here are a few I’ve noticed have availability for families hoping to meet Father Christmas this festive season:

Father Christmas at National Gallery
On select days in November and December, Father Christmas will be returning to London’s National Gallery on Trafalgar Square, where families can meet him as part of the National Gallery Meet Father Christmas experience opening on Saturday 27 November. This year, the event is set to include snowflake-making and storytelling before the meeting with Father Christmas, who will give children a token that can be used to trade for a gift from the on-site Elven Sorting Office that knows what gift has been chosen for each young visitor. Full details can be found on the National Gallery website. (The photo above was taken at the National Gallery at the Father Christmas event in 2020.)

Sharky and Geoerge Father Christmas Grotto at St Pancras Station
New for this Christmas season, children’s entertainment business Sharky & George will host its Father Christmas grotto at London’s St Pancras Station. At the station, Father Christmas is about to catch a train up north, but he stops to meet with the lucky visitors and reads a story before the adventure continues with a treasure hunt around the station. The first day of the grotto will be Saturday 20 November, and more information is available on the Sharky & George website.

Storytime with Father Christmas at Royal Albert Hall
At historic Royal Albert Hall, Father Christmas is returning for a Christmas storytime from 2 December. The event takes up to 30 minutes, and children leave with a gift. At the time of writing, I’ve noticed there’s availability on some weekdays. For full details, see the Royal Albert Hall website.
