0Where to stay near Disneyland Paris
Disneyland Hotel
Staying metres away from the entrance to Disneyland Paris comes at a price, but after visiting Disneyland Hotel on our last trip I can see why this hotel is popular and friends have recommended it to us. It is the only hotel that is practically in the park, and guests are greeted by friendly and service-minded staff eager to help. The hotel also has a unique Disney programme with experiences, such as lunch with Disney characters, and guests have early access to the park on certain days, which must be ideal to jump the queues. In general, staying in Disneyland Hotel makes it easy to pop in and out of the park, and the only negative is that when I’ve checked prices per room per night it has been close to a £1000 a night, which I didn’t want to pay when we went for a mini Disney weekend in March. At the right price, however, Disney Hotel would be my first choice for accommodation in Disneyland Paris.
Radisson Blu Hotel
For a mid-range hotel, which is four star, I considered Radisson Blu after reading good reviews. The hotel, located 10 minutes from Disneyland Paris, offers a free shuttle service to to the park and it is a Disneyland Paris partner hotel. I like the fact that the hotel has two restaurants and a bar, meaning there’s no need to leave the hotel after a long day in the park when it’s not necessarily tempting to do much and relaxing in a hotel is more than good enough.
Golden Tulip Marne La Vallee
I also looked at Golden Tulip Marne La Vallee, as I’ve stayed in the sister hotel in Paris several times and have had a good experience there. The breakfast buffet is only €5 and has been ideal for me in Paris. The rooms have been modern, clean and comfortable, and the Golden Tulip hotel seven kilometres from Disneyland Paris offers good rates and has a restaurant serving lunch and dinner. There’s also a buffet breakfast service and a bar in the hotel. The main reason I didn’t book Golden Tulip in Disneyland Paris for this trip was the lack of a free shuttle service, which many other hotels offer. Looking back, we didn’t use the shuttle service anyway and taking a taxi from Golden Tulip Marne La Vallee is around €25-30, which I now think would have been fine. There’s also a train station 200 metres from the hotel, and Disneyland Paris is two stops away. This hotel is one I will consider again for next time, as I think I would have liked the guest rooms, four-star service and convenience of having a bar in the lobby area after returning exhausted in the evening.
Hi-park Serris-Val d’Europe
Since we needed several rooms when we went last time and just wanted somewhere to sleep for one night, I decided on booking Hi-Park Serris-Val d’Europe (see picture), which is a very affordable hotel less than 2km from the park, probably making it one of the nearest non-Disney hotels. It offers a free shuttle service to the park, which is frequent in the mornings before opening, but the 9.36 shuttle service was full when it arrived at the hotel, so we decided to book a taxi instead and paid €20 (the taxi from the park to the hotel was €12.50). The hotel rooms are equipped with kitchenettes, ideal for families travelling with babies, baby food and sterilising equipment, but the studio rooms are small and we were surprised the bed was only a pull-out sofa bed and check-in took much longer than expected. The hotel offers a cold breakfast buffet with a varied selection, but there’s no bar or restaurant open for lunch and dinner in the hotel. Instead, there’s a new shopping mall nearby where there are plenty of restaurants and an Apple store, among others. Overall, the small and clean room with the uncomfortable bed was fine when only going for one night and wanting to stay close.
