0Why a styling session at Natasha Coote in Parsons Green is ideal for busy mums
In the last few weeks I’ve started to feel very big, and when I was invited to a relaxed styling session at Natasha Coote in Parsons Green with a friend, I realised this was exactly what I needed. I’ve loved Natasha Coote’s boutique ever since discovering it more than a year ago now, and I’ve found several pieces there that I’ve come to love.
What makes this fashion boutique stand out is that they have a super cool mix of affordable and more expensive items and the staff are stylists, who are amazing at putting outfits together and giving advice on colours, style and accessories.
It didn’t matter that I was very pregnant now. Natasha came up with a selection of outfits that worked for pregnancy and beyond, reminding me that shoulders don’t change size during pregnancy and when shoulders and sleeves fit, tops, cardigans and jackets can look fantastic with or without a bump.
She also showed me how layering works brilliantly during pregnancy, and to disguise putting on weight she said a panelled cardigan was a good choice and long vests and cardigans that cover half the thigh.
For special occasions, she showed me a dress coat in turquoise and cream (see picture below), which worked well because it was breaking the body under the waist, making the body look longer and a flattering draped top. This could even go with jeans for a more casual day-to-day look.
When pairing a skinny outfit with a coat with more volume (see picture of beige coat, striped dress and red bag), she advised to keep the coat open to ensure the slim line was still visible and to pull up the arms, adding to the streamlining effect.
The selection of clothes at Natasha Coote includes a variety of cardigans, which could be worn open or with a pin, and many which would be ideal for breastfeeding. One of the items I bought was a print t-shirt (see picture at the top), which looked super stylish with a tailored jacket as well as with a more floaty cardigan. This was an outfit I could wear now with my black leggings, and I know I would also love it straight after giving birth when I would like to hide the tummy, as this being my second pregnancy I’m fully aware I won’t have a flat tummy after the birth.
Natasha Coote has a fantastic offering for busy mums who want to feel good about how they look, as the complimentary personal styling sessions they offer and mix of affordable and more expensive brands makes it incredibly easy to find outfits to meet any mum’s needs – even a pregnant one!
