0Win ticket to Santa’s Grotto at Eddie Catz
When we woke up after Halloween we moved straight on to the next celebration. There’s obviously no time to waste when it comes to Christmas. Or more specifically Christmas with kids.
In the morning on 1 November we all got ourselves ready to meet Santa at a Santa’s Grotto press preview at soft play centre Eddie Catz in Wimbledon, near Merton Abbey Mills,
It was not somewhere we’d been before–and I can’t say Daddy T and I share Baby Girl’s love for running around in London’s soft play centres–but Baby Girl was super excited about both the trip and arriving at Eddie Catz, where we started the morning with a hot chocolate and biscuit in the cafeteria.
At the back of the centre, there are now two small rooms dedicated to Santa’s Grotto, and families get to start the experience by writing letters to Santa and preparing reindeer food with glitter and cereals before meeting Santa, having a photo taken and receiving a present.
For three-year-old Baby Girl, stirring reindeer food with glitter and having it packed up in a bag to take home was clearly exciting, and she was in a good mood when meeting the cheerful Eddie Catz Santa. When Daddy T and I commented on the fact that the fun Santa with a distinctive accent must have come from the US she quickly corrected us and explained he came from the North Pole.
Baby Girl looked pretty serious when meeting Santa, four-month-old Baby Boy couldn’t stop staring at him, and Daddy T and I were in the background giggling from his jokes. In addition to being funny, however, Santa was also kind, and I was impressed with the fact that even Baby Boy received a present from the generous Santa. While Santa had a small soft toy for three-year-old Baby Girl, he had a Christmas dribble bib for the youngest visitors.
Baby Boy might not have been able to benefit from the opportunity to run around in the soft play area at Eddie Catz after the Santa experience, but he has at least made the most of his very practical present, which now reminds us of the lighthearted and joyful Santa at Eddie Catz.
